Details to come
Gary Nalder Director Asset Finance, Westpac Institutional Bank
Financial institutions such as Westpac play a critical role in helping to create a sustainable future for New Zealand. Westpac is targeting a 15% increase on its existing $1 billion investment in the New Zealand CleanTech sector by the end of 2015. Although Gary is a relative newcomer to the energy efficiency sector he has a strong desire to make a difference. In early 2013 Gary started to engage with the energy efficiency industry and quickly found out that one of the common barriers preventing energy efficient solutions proceeding was a lack of capital. Since then Gary has developed Westpac’s ‘energy efficient lease’ and is promoting the lease directly to the CFO’s and CEO’s of Westpac’s institutional customer base. Gary’s challenge is to break down the finance barriers that prevent energy efficient projects from getting off the ground. After joining the Department in 2007 Sam developed and now runs the Greener Government Buildings programme, which to date has facilitated 35 energy efficiency projects valued at over $200 million, delivering annual savings of $32 million and over 300,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas. By 2020, the program is forecast to reduce the Victorian Government’s greenhouse gas emissions by over 25 per cent. In 2011 the Greener Government Buildings program was the recipient of the Premier’s Sustainability Award. In 2012 Sam was awarded the EEC’s Energy Efficiency Leader Award. Dr Paul Bannister Managing Director, Exergy
Paul has extensive experience in Energy Performance Contracts and was heavily involved in the Australian EPC market in the period 1998-2010. Quintin Tahau Demand Response Manager, Transpower
Quintin has significant experience as a service provider to a wide range of organisations in the energy sector through his previous role as Operations Manager at Energy Market Services.
