The Energy Management and Technologies Group was established to create a forum for discussions on energy management techniques and technologies.  The Group provides leadership and advice to the Executive Officer on the latest innovations in energy technologies and energy management techniques.   The Group's aim is to ensure that New Zealand energy professionals are well informed about the range of energy technologies available.

Currently the focus of the Group is the development of regular technical briefing sessions.  Sessions are held remotely by Conference phone and the presentations are made available on the day of the presentation.  The Focus Group is also developing an Energy Technology Portal where the latest energy technologies can be show cased.

Group Vision: To establish EMANZ as the key industry source of information, expertise and resources on all aspects of energy management and technology.

Members of this Committee are all volunteers.  They undertake activities on behalf of the Group alongside their normal day to day jobs.  They are experts in a range of energy technologies including lighting, HVAC, Building Management Systems etc.

Work Programme

2009-10 Work Programme for the Energy Management and Technologies Focus Group.

Some key activities include:

• To become an affiliate of EVO - documents to be circulated.
• Meet with chair of EVO and encourage a video conference while in NZ.
• Webinars - widen to include PINZ. Develop relationship.
• Develop  an approach to EECA that they fund a project to address the typical 'over' specification of buildings with boilers, chillers etc. and thus improve the knowledge of energy efficiency
• Utilize this focus group to deliver a forum/expo on Advanced Metering & Smart Metering.
