Energy Audit Manual

The Energy Audit Manual has been prepared as a complementary document to sit alongside the Energy Audit Standard (AS/NZS 3598:2000 – Energy Audits) and be an aid to those carrying out energy audits. The Energy Audit Standard sets out the reference framework for undertaking energy audits. The Energy Audit manual takes that framework and fleshes it out for specific applications. It is both an interpretive guide and a benchmark of current best practice.

The “Manual” can be purchased for a fee of $100. To purchase a copy of the manual, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , ph 04 385 2839.

International Energy Agency (Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems (ECBCS))

The IEA established an Implementing Agreement on Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems (ECBCS). The function of ECBCS is to undertake research and provide an international focus for building energy efficiency. Tasks are undertaken through a series of annexes that are directed at energy saving technologies and activities that support their application in practice. Results are also used in the formulation of international and national energy conservation policies and standards.

The ECBCS has produced a wealth of Annex reports.

Note in particular two annexes on Energy Auditing –
