Classes of Energy AuditorEMANZ recognizes that there are a number of types of energy professionals undertaking audits in New Zealand in both residential and industrial/commercial situations. As such therefore it is appropriate that there are a number of ‘energy auditing classes’ to reflect this. For example, there is no need for a residential energy auditor to be qualified to Accredited Energy Auditor level. EMANZ currently has the following classes of energy auditor: Class 1 - Accredited Energy Auditor The EMANZ Energy Auditor Accreditation Class is the main Energy Auditor Programme. Originally known as the EMANZ Energy Auditor Accreditation Scheme, it is administered by the Energy Management Association of New Zealand (EMANZ), using standards developed by the EMANZ in conjunction with leading energy auditing experts. The Scheme began in 2001. Typically, an Accredited Energy Auditor is an energy professional (often with an Engineering Degree, but not always) who is experienced in undertaking large scale commercial and industrial energy audits. Auditor’s in this Class can access the EECA Energy Audit Grant Scheme. Class 2 – 4 – [Classes under development] – note –EMANZ is currently developing a number of other ‘Classes of Auditors’ to reflect the range of types of audits undertaken routinely and also to reflect the fact that the skills needed to undertake different types of audits are different.
